Meal Planning 2016 - Week 32
Happy Monday and welcome back to another weekly meal plan. Today I was doing some cleaning and organizing. I was clearing out some of my craft stuff that I'm not using, from my main office area to the basement for storage. In the process, I came across a stash of cookbooks that I wasn't ready to get rid of the last time I cleared out stuff. These cookbooks have been in my basement for a couple years at least. But before I completely cut the cord today, I skimmed through them to see if I found anything new to make.
You know what I discovered? My tastes and cooking style have changed so much, that these cookbooks weren't even appealing to me. I flipped through some pages, and tossed them on the giveaway pile with barely a second thought. Just a few years ago, I couldn't imagine getting rid of them, so I moved to them to "temporary quarters" in the basement. Today, the emotional tie was broken, and I moved them to my giveaway box easily.
Sometimes we get so enmeshed in our routines and our day-to-day life, that we don't see our own growth. I am always striving to do more and be more, to learn more and open my mind more. But what I don't always see, is the small growth that happens in bits and pieces over time. While I still love a good cookbook (they are so aesthetically pleasing), as the main family cook, these days I turn more to Pinterest and the Internet than to my cookbooks for recipes and dinner ideas.
Here's what I have on my menu for this week:
Monday - Grilled Pork Tenderloin, Grilled Fingerling Potatoes and Zucchini
Tuesday - Homemade Chicken Finders, Fruit and Salad
Wednesday - After-Camp Dentist Appts and a Meeting for mom, mean Mini Meatloaves
Thursday - Pasta Carbonara (my favorite is from The Pioneer Woman)
Friday - Homemade Pizza - hopefully on the grill
Saturday - Mom is off to a Wedding Shower - Boys' Night
Sunday - Burgers, Dogs and Pasta Salad
What's for dinner at your house this week? I'd love you to share your plan here in the comments, or join us over on Facebook to dish (see what I did there?) all things meal planning and making healthy (and EASY) dinners for our families.
