Welcome to my weekly meal planning post. Each week I share my intentions
for feeding my family for the week ahead. I take time each Sunday, to
get organized and plan out a menu of mostly "real
food" items, in an attempt for all of us to eat healthier. In the end,
when we follow the plan, we do eat healthier and we save money too. I
hope you take away some ideas and inspiration for your own weekly meal
plan.
This week, I am on my own, since my husband is away for business. While that doesn't mean much in terms of scheduling, it does make me realize just how many things he helps me with around here. While I am grateful for all his help, with him out of town, I feel like I am on dinner plan vacation, because truth be told, my kids don't care.
For better or worse, they are "typical" American kids. They don't know if dinner takes me ten minutes or three hours to make. (They may be able to guess by my mood though) All they know is whether it's something they like, and that it's ready when they're hungry - which seems to be ALL THE TIME.
This week brings us four lacrosse games and five practices. Those events double up THREE times, which makes it an even bigger challenge. My oldest has a team dinner one night, so it's just me and Owen for dinner. With all that in mind, here is what we have planned for this week:
Monday - Ravioli with Meatballs, Garlic Bread
Tuesday - Homemade Chicken Finders with Fruit
Wednesday - Breakfast for Dinner for me and Owen
Thursday - Chicken Quesadillas
Friday - Take Out after the Lacrosse Game
Saturday - Family Dinner Out
Sunday - Burgers and Dogs on the Grill
What are you having for dinner this week? I'd love for you share your ideas and inspiration here in the comments, or join our discussion over on Facebook.
