Meal Planning 2016 - Week 5

Weekly Meal Planning Ideas - Real Food for Real Families

Welcome to my weekly meal planning post. Each week I share my intentions for feeding my family for the upcoming week. I take time each Sunday night to plan out a menu of mostly "real food" items, in an attempt for all of us to eat healthier. In the end, when we follow the plan, we do eat healthier and we save money besides. I hope you take away some ideas and inspiration for your own weekly meal plan.

Sometimes, I get bored with meal planning and I start to feel like we eat the same things all the time. But when I ask my family for ideas, they don't have much besides what we "usually" have. In fact, the last few "new" recipes I've tried have not been big hits.  So sometimes, it's better to stick with what everyone likes.

Here's what I have on our plan this week:

Monday - Shrimp Stir Fry (Shrimp and Vegetables over rice)
Tuesday - Taco Tuesday (homemade Taco Seasoning is easy and has NO MSG), Guacamole and Corn
Wednesday - Chicken Parm - Homemade Chicken Cutlets with diced tomatoes and mozzarella
Thursday - Quick Dinner/ Leftovers, mom has a PTA meeting
Friday - Homemade Pizza Night
Saturday - YOYO (You're On Your Own)
Sunday - Family Dinner Out

What's on your meal plan this week?

  1. I feel like I get in a meal planning rut too! And my family is the same way. If I ask what they'd like for dinner, I can guarantee I'll get requests for sloppy Joe's, meatloaf, spaghetti and meatballs (or some other kind of pasta w/red sauce), loaded baked potatoes, and anything that has mac and cheese as a side dish! Your meal plan sound delicious. Shrimp stir fry is a great idea! I'm going to put that on our list of "meals to try"! :) Glad to have found you over at Menu Plan Monday!
