What I Wore: A Casual Skirt and Blouse Outfit

Welcome back to another weekly fashion post, where I share real fashion for real women. Each week, I highlight at least one outfit that I'm wearing right now, as well as provide ideas and inspiration to help you get dressed in the mornings.

This week, I'm sharing a favorite dressed-up outfit. Since I work from home, my everyday wardrobe is usually very casual and consists mostly of jeans, yoga pants and leggings. But every once in a while I get to head out for lunch or a meeting, and I get to paw through my closet for something fun to wear. In 2015, I was lucky enough to be an Aventrua Clothing Ambassador, and had the opportunity to try out many of their clothes throughout the year. This now-favorite outfit was born from that opportunity:

Shirt - Aventura Clothing | Tank - Aventura Clothing | Skirt - Aventura Clothing | Necklace - Tiffany | Tights - Tight End Tights from Spanx | Boots - Bandolino

It's really nothing special, it's a casual skirt, a cotton top and boots. But the band of grey on the skirt, the details on the shirt and the tall boots, elevate the look a little bit. Think about the pieces you have in your own closet. Do you have a shirt that you typically wear with say jeans, that would look great with a black or denim skirt you have? Try it next time you're heading out with the girls!

Wrap - Coldwater Creek (old) | Bag - Kate Spade

For a while, we had a rash of unseasonably warm weather here in PA, and I didn't have to drag out the coats. This wrap worked like a charm, and is perfect with skirts and dresses, as well as jeans and leggings. The neutral colors help with it's versatility.

Getting dressed and looking great doesn't have to be hard. Keep filling your closet with the best quality basics that fit your budget. Look at the things you already own in new ways. I hope you got some ideas and inspiration here for a great new outfit hanging out in your closet right now!
