Menu Plan Monday - 2015 Week 47

Weekly Meal Plan - Real Food for Real Families

Welcome back to another weekly meal planning post. Each week, I share my plan for feeding my family dinner. It's not fancy, but for the most part it's real food for real families. We get bored and have picky eaters, just like you. Meal Planning isn't always easy, but it's a process that makes our home run more smoothly.

I typically shop on Monday mornings each week. This week, I have meetings on Monday AND Tuesday, so my regular Trader Joe's shopping won't happen until Wednesday. In that case, I'm using some things I have on-hand in my freezer and pantry on Monday and Tuesday.

In full disclosure, I typically don't make things that come pre-started in a box, but we all like the Rice Orzo Pilaf Mix from Trader Joe's. I can read all the ingredients on the back, and while it's a bit high in sodium, it's not that terrible. It's also on-hand and ready for tonight's dinner!

I tell you that, because I believe in authenticity here. I don't want you to think that making a mostly real-food dinner has to be hard or expensive. It doesn't. It just takes a little thought and planning. And with that, here's what we have planned for dinner this week:

Monday - Pork Chops, Rice Pilaf and Broccoli
Tuesday - Tortellini with Spinach and Sausage
Wednesday - Chicken "Parm", Salad
Thursday - Leftover Buffet
Friday - Pizza Night
Saturday - YOYo (You're On Your Own)
Sunday - Family Dinner Out
