Everywhere I looked in early spring, I saw yellow. This week, we're talking all things yellow and most importantly real yellow clothes and accessories for real women. Yellow can be a difficult shade to wear. Like so many colors, you may have to test to find your perfect yellow. For instance, I love a great mustard yellow or goldenrod, but neither of them look great with my hair and skin. Since I am a "summer," I am supposed to stick to a pastel yellow.
One way around the color issue, is to wear your favorite shade, but keep it away from your face. For instance, a great pair of yellow cropped pants. I LOVE these pants from Talbot's (also a gift from my mom - she rocks!). I have been waiting for the weather to warm up so that I could wear them. For a fun girls day out, I paired them with another beloved piece (and gift from my mom), a polka dot cardigan.

I have a highlighter yellow (it's BRIGHT!) colored cardigan that I got on the super clearance rack a few years back at Ann Taylor. It's a classic style in a more modern color, and can add a punch of color to my wardrobe. I have a black and white skirt that I like to pair with it. For weekend family time, I paired it with a pair of faded skinny jeans, a white tank and this fun turquoise infinity scarf. Turquoise and yellow are a great color combination.

Another look I love, but it's for much younger and much thinner ladies than I, is a pair of black and white shorts (on the short side) with a yellow top and black sandals. Depending on the shorts this can look a little dressy and be a fun night out look.
Yellow also looks great with Navy Blue, and if you are really a color person, you may be able to pull it off with pinks, reds and oranges.
Do you wear yellow? What's your favorite look?

Hillary, I've been preaching about yellow all spring! It's not a color that I use to wear hardly at all, but I am so "in" to it this year! I posted today about a yellow swing jacket I picked up the first time I went thrifting and I love it! I also love how you styled yellow in your pictures! Perfect! Happy Wednesday!
