Menu Plan Monday - 2013 Week 19
So last week I wrote about how I was starting a healthy eating plan. I mostly stuck with last week's plan, and my family (especially my husband) came along for the ride. The Chicken Stew will go into our regular rotation. The Chicken Cacciatore and Spinach and Bacon Salad are both moving to this week.
Speaking of this week, we have FIVE baseball games on tap. . .yes. . .five. So I planned some easy and quick things for the week:
Monday - Spinach and Bacon Salad (Chicken Nuggets for the Kids)
Tuesday - Chicken Cacciatore with Spaghetti Squash
Wednesday - Sausage and Greens Soup, Crusty Rolls
Thursday - Pasta with fresh tomatoes, olive oil and Basil
Friday - Pizza Night
Saturday & Sunday - TBD
I find that sometimes I am too hungry to make myself something healthy. . .and then that spirals into quick "snacks" that are definitely not healthy.
What are some of your favorite healthy "snacks" or quick grab items to stay on-track?
catch you soon -

Your menu looks delicious. For me, I keep baggies of grapes, and almonds to eat on the go. Otherwise I will grab junk food.
ReplyDeleteThank you - oh grapes are a good idea - I think I'll put a handful in the freezer for later today!

I like to keep veggies and fruit in the snack bowl. It definitely helps us from going out and buying junk food.
ReplyDeleteI need to get better at that. . .

My go-to's are Ensure (seriously!) and Lance Nekot crackers (I call them - they insist on cookies) made w/ real peanut butter - love YOUR menu - eeerrr, what time am I expected ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL thanks Jeanee =) I wish menu planning felt more natural and easy for me - even though I do it EVERY WEEK - it's a chore. But it saves us money and my sanity.LOL
