This week's #vlogmom prompt comes from Rajean over at B Cause I Said So. Rajean asked us, "What are your top 3 loves and top 3 pet peeves with blogging?"
Watch this video, and see what I had to say. . .

For each vlog I watch on this topic, I become more excited and interested to learn what everyone has to say on this subject of vlogging and blogging. Honestly, I might have to pat myself on the back because so far, each post offers helpful feedback to other bloggers, brands, PR reps, those interested in starting their own blog and doing it successfully. I love your follow up question at the end asking if you read blogs, what is your takeaway - why do you? I also loved learning learning about why and how you started your site. Solid advice, my friend, and I'll add, I'm so happy to have met you at a blog conference. Part of my favorite things about this business of ours!
ReplyDeleteYou are the sweetest EVER! =) I am so lucky to have you in my network and circle of friends and peers. This was a GREAT topic - and everyone has such great things to bring to the table!

I couldn't help but shake my head in agreement with all of these. Especially the emails for free advertising. Blogging takes time and money, just like any other business, so we should be treated as such when it comes to advertising within our business.
ReplyDeleteIt just seems to be on the rise in my email box. . .and granted, I am growing so I guess that's a good sign. . .but now there are the "follow-up" emails. . ."Did you get my first email asking you to put a blurb on your blog for free?" - LOL

ReplyDeleteMelinda, I had an author call me and just jump into her spiel. Never mind if I were in the middle of something or the like. Bah!
DeleteYou guys - that's crazy isn't it? I may start replying to the 2nd one with a sponsored post rate reply. . .

Great list! I admire bloggers who do this full time! I feel like I can barely eek out a few good posts per week. Daily? I am not worthy!
ReplyDeleteIf you noticed, my sweet friend, there was no post here on Wednesday and none today - Friday. . .sigh. . .some weeks are harder than others that is for SURE!
