Do you text, tweet or update your Facebook Status? In the cold? Do you have a pair of texting gloves?
There are almost as many styles as there are phones. There are pretty ones, and functional ones, and crazy ones, and hand-knit ones. . .the list is endless. So how do you go about choosing the right pair? And for that matter are they even necessary?
For me, they are a necessity. I love to post a picture to Instagram from the Bus Stop or on the run. And I'm always texting.
There seem to be three general types of texting gloves: Gloves with Touch Technology in the fingertips, ones that convert the thumb and/or finger from covered to bare, and pairs that have no fingers at all, covering the hands, wrists and forearms.
I started with a pair of Touch Technology ones. The "Tech Point" in the fingertip and thumb work great on a touchscreen. My problem with these is that I have small hands. So my fingers don't reach the tip of the gloves making my accuracy more off than usual.
I got a pair of Flip-Top Mittens from Kate Spade for Christmas. . .and so far, these are perfect. They keep my hands warm, I can have my fingers free to text on one hand or both, AND they are stylish and fun to boot!
Last year, Lord and Taylor had a gorgeous pair of green arm warmers that would be great for days when I'm working from home and it's chilly. My hands get really cold, especially late in the day.
And let me not forget - they make great texting gloves for men as well, in both dressy and casual styles. REI, Department Stores, and Lands End are great places to look.
So, do you have a pair of texting gloves? Do you love them? Share your thoughts in the comments - I'd love to know!

I have both kinds. I love the flip tops {also good for taking pictures in the cold}. I haven't tried the Touch Technology ones yet.
ReplyDeleteI have a few different types.I prefer the fingertip-less ones to the Touch Technology ones. I find the touch technology ones are hit or miss. These make great gifts too!!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any of these, but have been thinking of knitting some up...the flip kind. Now you have inspired me to start!

ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea! We should make a playground date sometime - my boys would LOVE to hang with W.

I had flip top gloves in college, my smoking days. They weren't texting gloves then. They were smoking gloves, mainly because texting wasn't a thing then. *hands head in shame*
ReplyDeleteI just got two pair of texting gloves (to match my new coat). They're just cheapies. So far, so good.
