Review: Suspend by Melissa and Doug

I love the idea of Family Game Night.  While we do not have a regularly scheduled game night, I do enjoy playing games with the kids and encourage them to play games with each other.  I believe that games have a lot to offer in the way of teaching our children valuable skills, not the least of wich is how to be a good "winner" and a good "not-winner".

We recently had the opportunity to review Suspend by Melissa and Doug. First of all, since we are short on space, I love how compact this game is.  It slid right into our game cabinet when we were finished.  Secondly, it would also make a great game to pack for vacation, a camping trip or overnight stay at grandma's.

The recommended age is 8+.  I handed it over to my 11 and 5 year olds, and told them to figure it out and play nicely.

They took the pieces out and the 11 year old read the instructions.  They needed my help to get the base set-up, but only the first time they played.  Suspend is a game for 1-4 players that focuses on balance.  Players take turns hanging pieces.  While it's challenging for the 5 year old, his brother is patient and helps him figure out places to try to hang his piece.  They seem to have gotten the hang of it nicely.

Overall, this is a fun game that has entertained my boys several afternoons since we got it.

catch you soon -

note - I received a game in order to facilitate this review.  I did not receive any compensation. As always, all opinions are my very own.
