In case you don't know. . .the Rockettes are a world-famous precision dance company performing out of Radio City Music Hall in New York City. And thanks to the great folks at Pfizer, I had the opportunity to work out with them on Friday morning.
At 7:00 am.
So Sherry and I put on some workout clothes and headed out to Radio City Music Hall.
Rest assured. . .I am too short to be a Rockette (as if that is the only thing holding me back). According to the ladies we spoke with, a Rockette must be between 5'6" and 5"10.
The workout consisted of two lovely Rockettes lining us all up and instructing us on how to do the Wooden Soldier dance steps and of course the world-renowned high kicks.
We lined up as instructed, and gave it our best shot.
Following our workout, we were able to ask the ladies questions. My fellow bloggers came up with some wonderful questions, and we learned quite a bit about being a Rockette. Some of these girls perform in up to 5 shows a day! They work 6 days a week too. These aren't just dancers. . .these are athletes.
The Rockettes take part in the Make a Wish Foundation, and the smiles on their faces as they spoke about what they've done, made me happy to see them proud to do social good.
On our way out, there were some delicious smoothies from the folks at Pfizer, Caltrate and Centrum, encouraging us to feel young.
I have to say. . .this was an amazing experience for me. I've been to Radio City Music Hall to see the Christmas Show, once, prior to having kids. Now I am considering a trip with the boys to see it this holiday season.
Have you seen the Rockettes?
catch you soon -
note - I was an invited guest and I received a t-shirt as a participant in this event. As always, all opinions are my very own.
It looks like an amazing event! I wish I could have seen you guys highkicking!
ReplyDeleteWas such a fun time! Wouldn't it be fun to go see the Rockettes now that we are "in the know."
ReplyDeleteThe Rockettes were part of my childhood! My parents would take me into Radio City Music Hall every Christmas. It was where I fell in love w/ Art Deco. My mother figured it like this: it was cultural; I would really love the dancing; and, about halfway through the movie (or so she thought) being a little kid, I should've fallen asleep ;) How fortunate you were (even if it was corporate sponsered)!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun!
