Last month, I attended my very first blogger conference, Type-A, in Charlotte, NC. This month, I am packing my bag and heading up to New York City to try my hand at the biggest female blogger conference in the world - BlogHer.
For a month, there have been Facebook groups and twitter streams talking about sessions, and rooms and parties. Security, pushing, and of course swag. It's enough to make the most confident person a little wary.
Unfortunately, my budget didn't allow for me to get a full conference pass this year (but I am accepting sponsorships for next year), so I am considering this my "test run" of BlogHer. I may not be able to attend the rockstar sessions, but I am heading up with a professional mission in mind, because after all, it's so much more than a party.
Armed with business cards and a newly designed one-sheet, (along with my sparkling personality of course) I have a list of invites and sponsor booth numbers to ensure I meet with the brands, organizations and people that I want to connect with. These are the ones that resonate with my blog brand and what I hope to accomplish. These are the brands where I think my voice matches their market. The organizations with the same beliefs and goals that I have. The people that are kindred spirits in blogging and social media.
Will I see you at BlogHer12? If you see me, please stop and say hi - I'd love to meet you!
catch you soon -
