bloggy summer camp. . .high school flashback

Day 2 - What were you like in high school?  What extracurricular activities, if any, did you take part in during high school? Did you consider yourself a writer?

i was in high school during the height of the 80's . . .1982-1986 . . . you know, pegged jeans, hair-bands and Madonna. In fact, one year (must have been senior year) I went to our High School Halloween dance as Madonna from Desperately Seeking Susan (wish I had a picture), complete with an armful of rubber black bracelets.

Unlike many people - High School was not the greatest time of my life - it wasn't awful - but I remember it being a struggle to fit in and still be true to myself.  High School girls can be mean.

I played tennis briefly freshman year. . .and I gave the Drama Club a whirl. . .I was on the yearbook staff and creative writing club in my senior year.  Although I don't think I considered myself a "writer".  I am always my worst critic, not seeing myself as any better than 75% of the people out there.

I was a much stronger student in English and History than Math and Science.  I took Typing and Accounting in High School.  We learned Basic programming on gigantic desktop computers.

those were the things I recall from High School - oh well, in addition to being in love with a different older boy nearly every month. . .
