storm of the year. . .

so saturday morning. . .some snow moved into the area. . .based on the complete lack of bread, eggs, milk and meat on store shelves - it was going to be a doosey. . .

mother nature did not disappoint.  according to GMA's Sam Champion philly got 23.2 inches of snow. . .it broke the december snowfall record and was the 2nd heaviest snowfall ever for the city.  

john headed out twice on saturday to shovel - we let the kids play outside for a bit - but it was blowing and cold.

we woke sunday morning to utter silence. . .not a sound stirring outside. . .everything was muffled by an almost 2 foot blanket of pristine white snow. . .

the kids couldn't wait to get out there. . .so i bundled them up and they headed out with john to "help" him shovel us out.

it was light snow - which is good for shoveling, but not good for snowman making. . .

all and all it was a pretty snow, that didn't cause us too much grief. . .i sit here typing during a 2-hour school delay this morning. . .but what's a 2-hour delay when christmas is quickly approaching??
