preparing for back to school. . .

. . .in case you haven't noticed . . .it's officially back to school time. . .

the stores are full of supplies and the tv is full of commercials telling you exactly what you need to go back to school in style. . .

our school sends home a basic supply list with the summer homework packet - so we were good to go that first weekend after 4th of July, when Target traditionally stocks their back to school supplies.

i'm a huge fan of lands end backpacks. . .even though ours from kindergarten is still in terrific condition, i let ryan get a new one each year. . .sometimes he uses one of his older ones midway through the year for a change of pace. i'm very lucky that ryan buys lunch at school, so we don't need a lunch bag.
