. . .today I was contemplating "the road trip".
it all started with a Dixie Chicks' song while I was at work. there I was, minding my own business, bopping along to my iPod, when it happened. "Wide Open Spaces" came on, and I got a heaping helping of nostalgia.
now, like any worldly 30-something girl, i've had my fair share of road trips. of course with a 4 YO, there haven't been too many of them recently. the one I was thinking about today involved some of my good girlfriends, and a silly trip for sandwiches.
yes - sandwiches. we drove from PA to CT for Lobster Rolls. go figure - the exuberance of youth! but they certainly were yummy, with some good house white in a jug and a t-shirt souvenir.
you know, at the end of the month, we'll be taking our first "real" family road trip. . .to NC. . .with the 4 YO. . .and lots of Jimmy Buffet. . .
catch you soon -
