Accomplishments. . .
. . .today, Ryan put his giant firetruck floor puzzle together - ALL BY HIMSELF!
I was chattering away on the phone, and he put it all together by himself. we were both very proud of him. i asked him if I could take his picture, and he told me that i would have to wait until he was done on his fire call. as he put on his gear, i suggested we take the picture of him in his gear with the completed puzzle.
whadda ya know - mom hit a home run!
it never ceases to amaze me how impressed we are with other's accomplishments, yet we are so hard on ourselves. when asked, "what is your most prized accomplishment?" - how do you respond?
maybe i'm not used to promoting the things i do, but i always struggle with this, because most of what I do seems very "everyday" to me. what is the big deal about it? isn't everybody doing the same type of things, what makes mine special or noteworthy?
i try to encourage that feeling of "proudness" in my son. . .I want him to look at each day, and feel like he did something great. because isn't true greatness measured in the little things?
catch you soon -
