Let us make one fashion statement here - leggings are NOT actually pants and should only be worn with a tunic or other long top that covers your bum. Even if you are tall and skinny - they are leggings, not actual pants, and many times, they are a bit uhm see-through.
But finding skinny jeans can be tough if you have a more curvy body-type. Many times skinny styles either do not fit me in the waist and butt, or if the waist fits, the legs are too tight - it's a struggle. But I did find a great pair and love my NYDJ Skinny Jeans. I'd like to find a similar style in a darker hue to carry me from late summer into fall.
Jeans - NYDJ
Boyfriend Shirt - Gap (last summer)
Shoes - Vionic
Necklace - Tiffany
Bracelets - Alex and Ani, Tiffany
Another option in tight pants is Jeggings. I know, the word makes me cringe and think of un-stylish things. But they CAN be a nice addition to your transitional wardrobe. Jeggings are a happy medium between leggings (think comfort) and jeans (think pockets). A few years ago, I picked up a pair of white Hue Jeggings/Skinnies with a wide cuff and never looked back. Another thing that makes this look work is the pop of color in my shoes and the contrasting jewelry.
Jeggings - Hue
T-shirt - Ann Taylor
Shoes - Vionic
Bracelets - Alex and Ani, Tiffany
Necklace - From the Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts Street Fair
Earrings - Stella and Dot
So are Leggings, Jeggings and Skinnies the same means to an end? What do you think? Can leggings and jeggings be fashionable? Are they just another form of "skinnies"?
catch you soon -
